The regulations listed below are current as of October 2, 2008

Maine has four different documents regulating health and safety in child care.
Effective Date
Child and Adult Care Food Program 1/1/2007
Rules for the Licensing of Child Care Facilities 8/27/2008
Rules for Family Child Care Providers 8/27/2008
Rules for the Licensing of Nursery Schools 9/27/2004

Please note: Some cities and/or counties in Maine have additional regulations. Please check with your city and county government for more information.
